About Read & Transform
Hi, my name is Basi and to put it simply, I love reading for my personal and spiritual growth. I like to write about what I have discovered in my readings, in the hope that it helps you as much as it has helped me.
About Me
Other than the fact I love reading, here are a few other things about me:
I am Muslim woman.
I love learning about the beauty of Islam.
Growing up, culture and religion were so intertwined, leaving me confused. I am Pakistani.
Evolving as a Muslim, I am constantly unlearning misconceptions and learning true Islam.
Almost half of what I write is based on Islamic books I am reading.
Mother of 3 beautiful children
My goal was to have 3 kids before I turned 30.
I achieved my goal; I had my third child at 29 and turned 30 a few months later.
I believe in giving my children confidence to be their true and best selves. Each child is different and needs a different parenting approach. I write more about this on my blog.
Creator of readandtransform.com
Started writing in March 2024.
My writing is a cross between information for others to benefit from and a personal journal.
Read & Transform is my long term Sadaqah Jariyah project (Islamic term for on-going charity that will benefit others even after I pass away)
Part time Data Analyst
Self-confessed Microsoft Excel enthusiast.
It was the one small additional Excel module in my Business Degree that has helped me the most in my career.
I love numbers, structure and organisation.
Co-founder of Warwickshire Muslims Community Organisation
Warwickshire Muslims is a non-profit organisation that runs quarterly events that bring the Muslim community together.
I have been living in Warwickshire for over 10 years, and I was missing the community aspect in my life.
I am honoured Allah (swt) chose me to help set this organisation up. I wanted new Muslims in the area and Muslims that have been living here a while, to know they are not alone.
